Patrick Morrissey
Senior Vice Commander - Marines

Patrick Morrissey, a Life Member of the Benjamin Franklin VFW Post 605 in Paris, France, was elected and installed on 1 April as the Post 605 Senior Vice Commander.

Comrade Morrissey served as an Engineer Officer in the United States Marine Corps for 6 years. He initially earned his eligibility for the VFW while assigned to the 7th Engineer Support Battalion, I Marine Expeditionary Force in Camp Pendleton, CA, where he led a platoon deployed to Somalia in support of Operation Restore Hope. He later served as a Platoon Commander with the 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit (Special Operations Capable) where he deployed in support of military, diplomatic and humanitarian missions across the Eastern Hemisphere. His final posting was with Marine Wing Support Squadron 171, 1st Marine Air Wing, in Iwakuni, Japan. 

He transitioned into civilian life as a consultant with Deloitte Consulting France. This was followed by a move into corporate banking, where he is currently the Head of Multinationals Banking France within the Banking, Capital Markets and Advisory division of a leading American bank. 

His decorations include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal.  

Comrade Morrissey has a BS in International Relations from the University of Pennsylvania and an MBA from HEC Paris.  

He has served as the Chaplain and Junior Vice Commander of the Benjamin Franklin Post 605 over the past 4 years. 

He and his wife, Anne, and their two children reside in Paris, France.
